Rider Killed in Collision on Nimitz Freeway Friday
San Leandro, CA (January 7, 2022) – A motorcyclist died following a traffic crash that occurred on Interstate 880, also known as Nimtiz Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a man riding a Suzuki motorbike collided with another vehicle in the northbound side of the highway. The accident took place near Marina Boulevard offramp Friday afternoon.
CHP logged the case at about 4:12 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the motorcyclist lying on the ground. Paramedics immediately attended to the victim. Despite life-saving measures, the rider sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Several factors surrounding the horrible crash remained unclear. Detectives continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led to the deadly accident on Interstate 880 in San Leandro.
