3 Injured in San Luis Obispo Crash on Highway 1 Near Kansas Avenue
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (October 2, 2021) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash near Highway 1 and Kansas Avenue in San Luis Obispo.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred on Friday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 5:49 a.m.
The incident happened on October 1 when a Toyota Corolla was going south on Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo. For an unknow reason, the car hit the rear of a brown Chevrolet Silverado.
2 Cars Collide
The two crashed just south of Kansas Avenue. The Toyota ended up stuck underneath the flatbed of the pickup truck upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found a total of three people hurt. They sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the all three patients to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 1 to shut down near Kansas following the wreck. The cause of the San Luis Obispo crash is still under investigation.
