Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Ragged Point Crash on Highway 1

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA (July 10, 2022) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 1 in the Ragged Point.

The California Highway Patrol first logged the accident last week on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on July 3 at about 12:38 pm.

The incident happened when a white Lexus SUV and the rider of a black sport motorcycle collided for an unknown reason in the Ragged Point area of San Luis Obispo County.

The two crashed at 19019 Highway 1 near the Ragged Point Inn and Resort.

Motorcycle and Car Collide

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the motorcyclist who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then rushed the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP did not confirm if the driver of the car stopped or stayed at the site following the wreck. Officers forced a stretch of Highway 1 to shut down after the incident.

The cause of the Ragged Point crash is still under investigation.
