Fatal San Luis Obispo Pedestrian Accident Highway 101, Prado Road
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — A person was struck and killed early Thursday on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo.
The fatal pedestrian accident involved at least two vehicles on northbound Highway 101 at Prado Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at 6:08 a.m. on Dec. 3rd amid heavy fog in the area, according to the San Luis Obispo CHP.
Police responded to the scene after the crash was reported on the northbound off ramp from Prado Road on Highway 101.
Several Vehicles Involved in Crash
A 911 caller told authorities a semi-truck and a work truck were parked in the lanes. There was debris spewed all over the roadway and traffic was backed up behind the crash scene. A black Audi may have also been involved and was towed.
There was also a report that a person laying across both lanes.
Later, the CHP confirmed that a pedestrian was hit in the crash and died on scene.
Officers say there was heavy fog in the area.
