Woman Critically Injured San Luis Obispo Pedestrian Accident
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (December 4, 2019) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Wednesday when she was struck by a car at a San Luis Obispo intersection.
The collision took place about 6:40 a.m. at Los Osos Valley Road and Calle Joaquin, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman was reportedly crossing the street when an oncoming SUV struck her, police said. Paramedics responde and rushed the unidentified woman to a local hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the woman who was driving the SUV, stopped and cooperated with the authorities.
The CHP is heading up the investigation into what happened to determine fault.
The number of pedestrian deaths in California in 2017 was 858, down 8% from 2016, according to the state’s Office of Traffic Safety 2018 report.
