1 Killed in San Marcos Crash on Santa Fe Avenue Near Smilax Road
SAN MARCOS, CA (January 9, 2022) – A car crash killed one person on Santa Fe Avenue in San Marcos.
According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the tragic accident took place on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:10 p.m.
The sheriff’s officials said at least two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in San Marcos. They crashed on South Santa Fe Avenue near Smilax Road.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, about 1.5 miles east of Palomar College. They confirmed that one victim died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, deputies did not mention if any other individual ended up hurt upon impact.
Officers forced a stretch of Santa Fe Avenue to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal San Marcos crash is still under investigation.
