Pedestrian Killed in San Marcos Crash at EDCO Site on Las Posas
SAN MARCOS, CA (March 10, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian at an EDCO site on Las Posas Road in San Marcos.
According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the tragic accident took place on Friday. Officers reported the collision on March 10 shortly before noon.
The incident happened when a trash truck hit the pedestrian for an unknown reason in San Marcos. The vehicle struck the person at the EDCO site on Las Posas Road, just south of State Route 78.
Victim Hit by Garbage Truck
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the victim down on the ground. The patient sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the individual dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, deputies did not mention if the driver of the garbage truck stopped or stayed at the scene following the incident. The cause of the fatal San Marcos crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced a part of the EDCO site on Las Posas to shut down for a time after the accident.
