Pedestrian Killed in San Marcos Crash on Mission Road Near Las Posas
SAN MARCOS, CA (February 9, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian on West Mission Road in San Marcos.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the accident took place late Tuesday night. Officers reported the tragic collision on February 8 shortly before 11:25 p.m.
The incident happened when a Dodge Ram 1500 struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in San Marcos. The pickup was going westbound on West Mission Road near North Las Posas Road when the truck hit him.
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the site, just west of Palomar College. They found the 29-year-old man down on the ground as a result of the accident.

He sustained serious injuries due to the impact of the collision. Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased man has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the 56-year-old man driving the Dodge ended up unharmed.
Deputies forced a stretch of Mission Road to shut down for a time following the pedestrian incident. The cause of the fatal San Marcos crash is still under investigation.
