1 Injured in San Marcos Hit-and-Run on State Route 78 Near Rancho Santa Fe
SAN MARCOS, CA (January 3, 2022) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash on State Route 78 and Rancho Santa Fe Road in San Marcos.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 8 a.m.
CHP said a black Ford pickup truck and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in San Marcos. The two crashed on the westbound side of State Route 78 near Rancho Santa Fe Road.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found an occupant of the Ford who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced the westbound lanes of State Route 78 to shut down near Rancho Santa Fe following the wreck.
The cause of the San Marcos hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
