Teen Seriously Hurt in Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident
SAN MARCOS, Calif. (February 05, 2019) — A motorist struck and seriously injured a 19-year-old pedestrian on West Borden Road near Palmoar College and then fled the scene without stopping to help him, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s San Marcos Station.
The hit-and-run crash took place about 8:48 p.m. at the intersection of Comet Circle. Police are now searching for the suspect and their older model, dark
colored, single cab, Toyota pickup truck. The truck would have damage to the front passenger side.
Police say the driver was heading westbound on West Borden Road when they came upon the young man who was crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk.
Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries suffered in the crash.
At this time, police do not know whether or not alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision.
