Motorcyclist Suffers Serious Injuries in Crash on SR-78 in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (Jan. 15, 2025) — A motorcycle rider was injured Wednesday morning in a car accident on state Route 78, just west of Woodland Parkway in San Marcos.

The traffic accident occurred around 7:31 a.m. on Jan. 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the rider was blocking the middle lane after colliding with a silver Kia or Toyota due to unknown circumstances.

Paramedics responded and found the motorcyclist with a broken left leg, but the rider was conscious before being taken to a hospital.

Tow trucks removed the Kia and the motorcycle from the roadway.

Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the motorcycle crash on state Route 78 in San Marcos.
