2 Killed in Collision Near Bean Hollow Road
San Mateo County, CA (May 30, 2023) – Two people died following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route Highway 1 Tuesday evening, May 30.
The ABC7 News reported two vehicles collided head-on on SR-1 near near Bean Hollow Beach. Preliminary investigation revealed one car veered into the opposite lane and slammed against another oncoming vehicle. The make and model of the automobiles involved in the catastrophic incident have not been revealed thus far.
Shortly after 7:20 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. They found one car fully submerged, while the other vehicle ended up at the edge of the lagoon.
Personnel from several first responder agencies worked extensively to pull out the occupants from the submerged car. Sadly, two male parties sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identities of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
1 Airlifted to Hospital After Car Accident in San Mateo County
According to the article published online, paramedics airlifted a woman in critical condition to Stanford Hospital. Additional details on the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detectives handling the case continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the deadly crash that happened on Highway 1 in San Mateo County.
