
1 Killed in San Mateo Crash on Highway 101 Near Dore Avenue
SAN MATEO, CA (April 22, 2023) – A crash killed at least one person on Highway 101 near Dore Avenue in San Mateo.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck on April 22 at about 5:39 a.m.
The incident happened when two cars collided for an unknown in Madera County. The vehicles crashed on northbound Highway 101 near the Dore Avenue off-ramp.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the cars as a black Nissan sedan and a gray colored sedan. Both vehicles rolled over due to the impact of the collision and then landed on their roofs.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one individual died as a result of the accident.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal San Mateo crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down for several hours near Dore following the wreck.
