Motorcyclist Killed in San Mateo Crash on Highway 101 Near State Route 92
SAN MATEO, CA (April 29, 2023) – A crash killed a motorcyclist on Highway 101 near State Route 92 in San Mateo.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck on April 29 at about 11:59 p.m.
The incident happened when the motorcyclist and a Toyota Corolla collided for an unknown reason in San Mateo. The two crashed on northbound Highway 101 near State Route 92.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found both the rider and the motorcycle down on the ground.
Medical personnel then confirmed that the victim died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officers did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck. The cause of the fatal San Mateo crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down for two hours near State Route 92 after the accident.
