
Motorcyclist Badly Injured in San Mateo Crash on Highway 101 Near Peninsula
SAN MATEO, CA (March 10, 2023) – A motorcyclist was badly injured after a crash on Highway 101 near Peninsula Avenue in San Mateo.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the accident on Thursday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at around 9:46 a.m.
The incident happened on March 9 when the rider of a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a white Lexus RX450 collided for an unknown reason in San Mateo.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
The two crashed on the northbound side of Highway 101 near the Peninsula Avenue off-ramp. CHP said the car obtained a broken left rear tire upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist lying on the ground. The patient sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down near Peninsula following the wreck. The cause of the San Mateo crash is still under investigation.
