2 Injured in San Rafael Crash on Highway 101 Near Merrydale Road
SAN RAFAEL, CA (March 4, 2022) – Two were hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 101 near Merrydale Road in San Rafael.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place late Friday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 11:05 a.m.
The incident began when a Subaru was driving recklessly and swerving on southbound Highway 101 in San Rafael. In the process, the reckless driver struck a silver pickup truck and another vehicle.
Reckless Driver Hits Cars
The cars crashed under Merrydale Road. The pickup truck then rolled over while the Subaru obtained major front-end damage upon impact
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found two people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
One victim sustained head contusion while the other patient complained of pain. Medical personnel took them to the Marin General Hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the San Rafael crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down near Merrydale following the wreck.
