Pedestrian Killed in San Rafael Crash at Fourth Street and G Street

SAN RAFAEL, CA (May 18, 2021) – A pedestrian died after an accident at Fourth Street and G Street in San Rafael.

According to an article published by the CBS San Francisco, the tragic collision occurred on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the crash at around 8 a.m.

The incident happened when a white box truck was going north on G Street, approaching Fourth Street. At the same time, a female pedestrian was crossing westbound on Fourth Street.

Woman Hit by Box Truck in Crosswalk

Police said the vehicle hit the woman in the crosswalk for an unknown reason. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and found her lying unresponsive on the ground as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the operator of the box truck stopped after hitting the person. The driver stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the authorities.

Officials forced the intersection to close following the collision. The cause of the San Rafael pedestrian accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at (415)485-3000.
