San Rafael Pedestrian Accident at US 101 at Lucas Valley Road

Pedestrian Struck by SUV in Crosswalk Near US 101 South Entrance
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (August 28, 2026) — A driver struck a pedestrian Friday afternoon in a crosswalk at Lucas Valley Road at the entrance road to US 101 South near the Kaiser Permanente hospital.
The collision occurred around 1:40 p.m. on August 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities were heading to the crash scene when another 911 caller told them the crash was at the southbound 101 entrance and Smith Ranch Road.
A driver in a white Chevrolet Tahoe SUV struck the woman in the crosswalk, and she suffered a possible head injury and was sitting on the right shoulder. Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV stopped following the crash and paramedics were requested.
Paramedics provided medical help to the injured pedestrian, but it’s unknown if the person was hospitalized.
Liability for the pedestrian accident in San Rafael is under investigation.
