Motorcycle Rider Injured in Crash into Upholstered Chair on I-680 Freeway

 SAN RAMON: Motorcyclist Hits Chair on Interstate 680 FreewaySAN RAMON, Calif. (July 22, 2020) — A motorcyclist was hurt Wednesday afternoon when his bike collided with an upholstered chair or couch on the Interstate 680 Freeway in San Ramon.

The crash was reported at 12:28 p.m. in the No. 3 lane of the freeway near the Crow Canyon Road off ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist went down in the roadway and wound up on top of the center divider under the freeway where it appeared as if he was sleeping, the CHP report said.

The victim suffered major injuries in the collision and was treated by paramedics who may have taken him to the hospital. It’s unknown at this time if the motorist who dropped the chair or couch in the roadway stopped.

The collision remains under investigation by the CHP.
