SAN SIMEON (July 12, 2016)- According to the Paso Robles Daily News, a total of six motorcyclists crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 1 near Pico Avenue.
The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. when a group of 15 motorcycle riders all riding together approached a car ahead about to make a turn.
At least one of the riders failed to see that the vehicle was making a turn causing six total riders to lose control and crash.
Glenn McMahon, 65, of Atascadero, suffered fractures to several of his ribs, trauma to his lung, and a head injury as well.
Kathleen McMahon, 53, sustained a punctured right lung, two broken arms, and multiple rib fractures.
Both Kathleen and Glenn McMahon required transportation to trauma centers for the severity of their injuries.
Matthew Sumner, 51, had a moderate leg injury and was hospitalized while Michael Leland complained of injuries to his back, neck, and leg.
The other two riders involved were uninjured.
