SAN SIMEON (August 4, 2016)- According to a police report, a head-on collision took place Wednesday afternoon at Highway 1 and Vista Del Mar Avenue.
The incident involved two Jeeps carrying a man and a woman visiting from Austrailia and a family of four visiting from Germany.
Per the report, the Austrailian man and woman were in the Jeep which attempted to turn left from the highway onto Vista Del Mar Avenue. The driver did not have nearly enough space to make the turn causing the collision.
The incident resulted in injuries to the German family of four which included two adults and two children. Their injuries were confirmed to have ranged from minor to moderate as they were each hospitalized
Neither the man or woman in the second Jeep was injured as they refused treatment at the scene.
The collision resulted in the closure of part of the intersection for an undisclosed period of time.
