Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in San Ysidro Crash on Interstate 5 Near Camino
SAN YSIDRO, CA (December 13, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 5 near Camino De La Plaza in San Ysidro.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the accident at about 4:34 p.m.
CHP said the motorcycle rider and a black BMW sedan collided in San Ysidro. For an unknown reason, the two crashed on the southbound Interstate 5, just north of Camino De La Plaza.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the rider down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck. The cause of the Carmichael crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down near Camino De La Plaza after the collision.
