At Least 1 Hurt in Traffic Collision Near San Ysidro Boulevard Friday
San Ysidro, CA (November 22, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run crash occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway Friday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Initial records indicated a black Honda Civic collided with another vehicle near San Ysidro Boulevard. Due to the force from the impact, the Honda Civic spun across all lanes of the freeway. The car eventually came to a rest along the southbound side of Interstate 5.
Shortly after 3:05 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the location. First responders immediately rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. The name of the victim and the extent of their trauma have not been revealed thus far.

Meanwhile, the CHP log mentioned the second vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene before police arrived. Detectives continue to work to determine the identity and location of the hit-and-run suspect.
