SAN YSIDRO, California (June 21, 2016) –– A 30-year-old motorcycle rider was injured Monday afternoon when he was struck by a driver in a dark colored SUV in front of 200 Cottonwood Road, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash took place about 4:04 p.m.. The motorcycle rider was on his Honda traveling northbound on Cottonwood Road near the intersection with Sellsway Street when an oncoming SUV made a left-hand turn in front of the bike. The rider crashed into the SUV and fractured his arm. The driver in the SUV failed to stop and help the victim, but fled the scene.
Paramedics responded and transported the injured rider to a local hospital where he was treated and expected to survive.
Police are searching for the suspect who if found will face felony hit-and-run charges for leaving the scene of an injury crash.
