Sandra Flowers, 64, Killed in Rancho Dominguez Hit-and-Run on Avalon Boulevard
RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CA (April 10, 2022) – Sandra Flowers was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Avalon Boulevard in Rancho Dominguez.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 64-year-old Compton woman as the victim in the fatal collision which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened when Sandra Flowers was walking eastbound across Avalon Boulevard in the community of Rancho Dominguez. At the same time, a vehicle was going north in the No. 1 lane.
Driver Hits Woman, Flees Scene
For an unknown reason, the driver hit her just south of Rosecrans Avenue. My News LA wrote that the accident occurred on April 9 at about 11:38 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived and found the pedestrian down on the ground. She sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the woman and fled the area.
Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect who left Sandra Flowers in the roadway. The cause of the Rancho Dominguez hit-and-run is still under investigation.
