
Woman, 59, Killed in Oildale Crash is Identified
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (May 2, 2023) — Sandra Marie Gannaway, 59, of Bakersfield, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on March 22nd in Oildale, just east of North Chester Avenue Extension.
The woman was recently identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
The deadly crash occurred around 10:39 p.m. on March 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Sandra Gannaway was reportedly walking in the westbound lanes of James Road, east of North Chester Avenue, Bakersfield Now reports. A driver struck her and fled the scene without stopping to help her or call 911.
She suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
