Fresno Woman Killed in Sanger Crash on Highway 180
SANGER, Calif. (June 29, 2020) — Heather Martinez, 42, of Fresno, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident early Sunday morning on Highway 180.
The crash took place about 2:30 a.m. near North Piedra Road, according to the Fresno Bee.
A Firebaugh woman identified as Kenia Rodriguez, 32, was reportedly driving under the influence in a 2000 Toyota when she struck the Fresno woman who was walking on the eastbound shoulder of the highway, according to the California Highway Patrol. The woman driving the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to help Martinez.
Kenia Rodriguez was eventually pulled over a short distance from the crimes scene. She was booked at the Fresno County Jail on felony DUI and hit-and-run charges, police said.
