Sanger High School Student Hubert Hsu Dies in Pedestrian Accident
Two Teens Struck in by Vehicle in Crosswalk
SANGER, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2025) — Hubert Hsu, 17, of Fresno, has been identified as the Sanger High School student who died Tuesday in a pedestrian accident at Bethel and Almond in Sanger.
The teenager was one of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle earlier this week, according to a press release by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department.
Hubert Hsu and a 17-year-old girl, identified as Bethany Ray, were struck by a motorist while they were crossing the road in a crosswalk.
The teenage girl was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, but the Fresno boy died following the collision.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the deadly pedestrian accident.
Meanwhile, those in the community say this is a dangerous intersection.
City officials have plans to add signals at the crosswalk, but the work won’t be completed until the summer, according to a report by ABC 30 News.
