Bicyclist Among 4 Hurt in Santa Ana Crash at First and Fairview; David Brihn Arrested
SANTA ANA, Calif. (July 11, 2018) – Four people including a bicyclist were injured early Wednesday morning in a traffic collision at First and Fairview streets, according to a report by the Santa Ana Police Department.
One person was arrested after a confrontation with police officers.
The crash took place about 4:30 a.m. at the intersection. Police are investigating whether or not the incident involved two vehicles that were racing and or an act of road rage. So far the facts indicate that two vehicles drove through a red traffic light and struck a car and a bicyclist. One of the motorists fled the scene of the crash and ran into a nearby ice cream shop. The employee helped police identify the suspect by pointing him out to officers. The suspect, identified as David Brihn, was apprehended after police used a taser gun.
Paramedics rushed four injured people with moderate to major injuries to local hospitals.

At this time, it appears that one or two drivers may be responsible for this collision. There also may be criminal charges filed against those at fault due to the circumstances.
