2-Vehicle Collision on State Route 55
SANTA ANA, Calif. (June 13, 2024) — A Lexus and Mercedes were involved in a car accident Thursday on the southbound Costa Mesa 55 Freeway at Dyer Road in Santa Ana.
The collision occurred at around 9:04 a.m. on June 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
CHP officials reported the driver of a dark grey Lexus allegedly rear-ended a white Mercedes Benz in the fast lane of State Route 55.
Three other vehicles were blocking traffic lanes, but it’s unknown if they were involved at this time.
Meanwhile, paramedics with Orange County Fire Authority responded to help a woman reporting injuries or pain after the collision.
A tow truck removed the grey Lexus sedan due to major front-end damage from the accident and the roadway was cleared by 10 a.m.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the car accident on the 55 Freeway in Santa Ana.
