Police Injured in Santa Ana Wednesday Accident at Jackson and 1st Streets
SANTA ANA (October 22, 2017) – An on-duty police officer was injured in a traffic collision at Jackson and 1st streets early Saturday morning, according to the Orange County Register.
Primary reports mentioned that a Santa Ana police officer was responding to a call around 1:20 a.m. when his patrol was struck by a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection.
The Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene and rendered aid to the police officer who reportedly required hospitalization. Medical personnel did not disclose the specific injuries sustained by the victim but they said the officer is in a good condition.
Meanwhile, officials identified the Chevrolet driver as 46-year-old Ignacio Roldan-Peralto, of Santa Ana. As per the article, Roldan-Peralto was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was transported to the local jail after his field examination results came in.
Roldan-Peralto and his sole passenger were unharmed in the collision. At this time, further investigation on the accident is ongoing.
