1 Killed, 2 Injured in Santa Ana DUI Crash at Grand and McFadden
SANTA ANA (December 2, 2018) – One was killed and two others were injured after an alleged DUI crash in the area of Grand and McFadden avenues early Sunday, according to The Orange County Register and KTLA.
The accident involving two vehicles took place on December 2 at around 2:20 a.m.
As per the reports, Santa Ana police said a black Acura TL driven by Herrera was traveling north on Grand Avenue when when it struck the rear of a white Toyota Scion XD at the intersection of South Grand and East McFadden avenues.
The Toyota was sent across the entire intersection upon impact, and both cars ended up in the southbound lanes of Grand Avenue.
Suspect Jesus Herrera, 29, Arrested For DUI
Police affirmed that a person riding in the rear of the Scion was found pinned inside the wreckage and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator of the Acura, 29-year-old Jesus Segura Herrera, the driver of the Toyota and another passenger were taken to hospitals with unspecified injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, Herrera was believed to be driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the wreck. The Orange man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, and reportedly has prior arrests for DUI dating back to 2008.
