1 Killed, Critically Injured in Santa Ana Pedestrian Crash on West 1st Street
SANTA ANA, CA (June 5, 2022) – A pedestrian crash killed one person and critically injured another on 1st Street in Santa Ana.
According to The Orange County Register and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Saturday night. Officers reported the collision at around 8:30 p.m.
The incident happened on June 4 when two pedestrians were crossing West 1st Street in Santa Ana. At the same time, a vehicle was going west.
Police said for an unknown reason, the driver hit them in the 4700 block of West 1st Street. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and found the victims in the roadway.
Victims Hit by Vehicle
One pedestrian died at the scene of the Santa Ana accident. Medical personnel took the other person to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victims.
Officers forced a stretch of 1st Street to shut down for a time following the pedestrian collision. The cause of the fatal Santa Ana crash is still under investigation.
