Man Killed in Santa Ana Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on Fairview Street
SANTA ANA, CA (November 5, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian on Fairview Street in Santa Ana.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident took place early Friday. Officers reported the collision at about 1:20 a.m.
Santa Ana police said a male pedestrian was in the northbound lanes of South Fairview Street mid-block. For an unknown reason, three vehicles struck him in the 800 block of the road.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the victim down on the ground, between McFadden Avenue and Highland Street. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Pedestrian Hit by Multiple Cars
Medical personnel soon pronounced the man in his 40s dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police described the three cars involved as an early 2000s Mercedes-Benz sedan, a late-model Hyundai and a Toyota Corolla.
The motorist in the Toyota stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the man. The drivers of the Mercedes and Hyundai did not stop to help and fled the area.
Officers forced a stretch of Fairview Street to shut down for hours following the hit-and-run collision. The cause of the fatal Santa Ana crash is still under investigation.
