At Least 1 Hurt in Collision on Warner Avenue Monday
Santa Ana, CA (December 8, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run crash occurred on State Route 55, also known as Costa Mesa Freeway, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Initial records indicated two vehicles collided in the southbound side of the highway at Warner Avenue in Santa Ana. Officials said the accident resulted in significant damage to one car. The vehicle of unknown make and model ended up disabled in the number one lane of Costa Mesa (55) Freeway.
Shortly after 7:19 a.m., medical personnel arrived and rendered aid to all parties found at the scene. Authorities later confirmed one person suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. Pending confirmation, the name and age of the victim remained undisclosed.

The CHP dispatch mentioned a motorist involved in the wreck fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators believed the hit-and-run suspect was driving a Honda Accord.
