SANTA ANA, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2021)  – A Santa Ana hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened early Sunday morning at South Standard Avenue and East Oxford Street.

The driver of an SUV struck a man on a mobility scooter just before 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 28th at the Santa Ana intersection, according to the Santa Ana Police Department. Witnesses reported a driver of a large black SUV struck the man and fled without stopping.

The Santa Ana pedestrian accident left the victim’s mobility scooter destroyed, police said.

Minor Injury Hit-and-run Crash in Santa Ana

Police and paramedics responded to the scene where they located the injured man and his badly-damaged scooter.

However, the man’s injuries are not life-threatening and he declined transport by ambulance to a hospital.

Police officers provided transportation home for the victim because his scooter was not usable.
