SANTA ANA, California (June 24, 2016) — A motorcycle rider suffered major injuries Thursday night in a collision on Bristol Street and Memory Lane, following a pursuit by police officers on the 5 Freeway, a report by On Scene TV said.
The crash took place about 10:45 p.m. last night. Police attempted to stop the motorcyclist on the Interstate 5 Freeway after he was seen driving at speeds above 100 mph, the report said. The rider exited the freeway at Bristol Street and was making a turn onto Memory Lane when he crashed and struck a blue Toyota on the front driver’s side. The bike was engulfed in flames and the rider thrown roughly 50 feet from his vehicle.
Paramedics responded and transported the injured rider to a local hospital for major injuries including broken bones.
A women who was in the vehicle was also taken to UCI Medical Center in Santa Ana to be treated for moderate injuries.
Police are investigating the crash and liability will be assigned.
