SANTA ANA, California (March 24, 2016) — A motorcyclist was hospitalized Thursday morning following a collision with a red Ford Mustang near the Main Street off ramp from the Interstate 5 Freeway at North Broadway, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The injured rider was transported to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The crash took place about 7:23 a.m. this morning and was blocking the HOV lane. The rider reportedly rear-ended the Mustang and the car moved over to the center divider following the crash. It’s not clear how the crash took place or who was at fault at this time, but police are investigating.
“Motorcycle riders too often take the blame for crashes involving other motorists on the freeway, but often it’s not their fault,” said Attorney James Johnson. “A full investigation should be made by police into what led to the crash to ensure a fair outcome.”
