UPDATE: 2 Dead in Motorcycle, Car Accident on Raitt Street
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Jan. 2, 2019) – A 35-year-old motorcyclist and a 40-year-old woman both died Wednesday afternoon in a collision between the the two motorists on Raitt Street, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The collision was reported about 1:25 p.m., just west of McFadden Avenue. Following the collision, the motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene. The female driver was hospitalized in critical condition and later died at the hospital.
Police say the woman driving the car made a U-turn mid-block and was T-boned by the southbound motorcyclist. Witnesses told authorities the rider was traveling fast when he was cut off by the driver.
Orange County Accident Investigation
At this time, it’s unknown who is at fault for this collision, but early indications are that the car pulled out into the path of the motorcyclist. Police are investigating the circumstances and will determine liability.
