5-Vehicle Crash on Costa Mesa (55) Freeway HOV Lane
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Dec. 5, 2022) — A multi-vehicle car accident happened Monday morning on the southbound Costa Mesa 55 Freeway, just north of MacArthur Boulevard in Santa Ana.
The collision occurred about 7:46 a.m. on Dec. 5th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
A dark-colored Nissan, a silver Honda Civic, a tan sedan and two other motorists collided in the HOV lane of the 55 Freeway, police said.
Paramedics with the Orange County Fire Authority responded to help those hurt in the crash.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed at least one of the damaged vehicles from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash on the 55 Freeway.
