Major Injury Crash on I-5 Freeway in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Oct. 7, 2022) — A multi-vehicle Santa Ana car accident happened Friday morning on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of 17th Street in Orange County.
The collision occurred about 1:57 p.m. on Oct. 7th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
At least one person suffered serious injuries in the crash involving a white BMW X5, a gray sedan, a minivan and a black pickup truck, according to the CHP report.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash, but there are no specific details.
Also, the gray sedan and the minivan both overturned in the middle lanes. The white BMW stopped near the Grand Avenue off ramp and the pickup was stopped in the middle lanes of the I-5.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed at least one of the damaged vehicles from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
