SANTA BARBARA, California (October 14, 2016) – According to an article by Noozhawk, a motorcycle rider was overthrown after his bike struck a vehicle on State Street Thursday night.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., several authorities responded to the 800 block of the street near Paseo Nuevo Shopping Center. They have located a man laying on the road, he was identified as the motorcyclist ejected from his 2016 Yamaha Z09 after colliding with a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
Initial investigation affirmed the Toyota was traveling northbound on State when the motorcycle suddenly struck the side of the truck. The impact tossed the rider who further banged against a parked vehicle.
Paramedics treated at the scene the sustained minor injuries of the motorcycle rider. While the solo-occupant of the Toyota Tacoma was unharmed from the incident.
As per the article, officers conducted a DUI test on the motorcyclist, but no arrest was made. Further investigation is ongoing due to several factors remain unclear.
The Santa Barbara Police Department, American Medical Response and Santa Barbara City Fire Department were at the scene.
