2 Injured in Crash on Highway 101
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Nov. 30, 2023) — Two people were injured Wednesday morning in a car accident on Highway 101 and Milpas Street in Santa Barbara.
The traffic accident occurred at around 7:45 a.m. on Nov. 29th, according to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.
A woman driving a car and a man driving a pickup truck collided due to unknown circumstances in the southbound lanes near Milpas Street, Noozhawk reported.
One of the vehicles overturned onto its roof in the left lanes of the highway, authorities said. The woman from the vehicle was found lying in the roadway suffering from moderate to major injuries, the report said.
Meanwhile, the man driving the pickup truck sustained minor injuries from the crash.
Both people were transported by ambulances to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Finally, the CHP closed down the highway except for a single lane due to the crash and investigation.
The case remains under investigation.
