2 Injured in Santa Barbara County Crash on Highway 1 Near Las Cruces
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (April 13, 2023) – Two were injured after a crash on Highway 1 near Las Cruces in Santa Barbara County.
According to the Noozhawk and KEYT News, the accident took place on Thursday morning. Officers reported the incident as a head-on collision at about 5:40 a.m.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said on April 13, three vehicles collided for an unknown reason. The cars crashed on Highway 1 near Las Cruces and the Highway 101 interchange.
Multiple Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found two people hurt. One of them ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
A helicopter flew the victim to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and listed them in critical condition. Medical personnel provided aid to the other patient for the minor injuries they sustained in the wreck.
The reports did not release the names of the two wounded parties. Meanwhile, the cause of the Santa Barbara County crash is still under investigation.
The California Highway Patrol forced Highway 1 to shut down in both directions near Las Cruces and Highway 101 following the wreck.
