3 Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 154 Near Lake Cachuma
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (March 7, 2022) – Several were injured after a head-on crash on Highway 154 near Lake Cachuma.
According to The Santa Maria Times and Noozhawk, the accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 2 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said two vehicles collided head-on for an unknown reason. They crashed in the 2300 block of Highway 154 near Lake Cachuma.
The incident log described the cars as a white BMW S6 sedan with four passengers and a gold Lexus with two occupants at the time. Both the BMW and the Lexus obtained major damage upon impact.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found at least three people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Two victims sustained major injuries while the third suffered moderate injuries. A helicopter took one while a ground ambulance rushed the other two to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the crash near Lake Cachuma is still under investigation.
CHP forced Highway 154 to shut down in both directions for nearly an hour following the wreck.
