Santa Barbara County Head-On Crash Highway 246 and Campbell Road

3 Injured in Santa Barbara County Crash at Highway 246 and Campbell Road

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (July 3, 2021) – Several were injured after a car crash at Highway 246 and Campbell Road in Santa Barbara County.

According to the KEYT News and KSBY News, the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 4 p.m. between Lompoc and Buellton.

The Santa Barbara County Fire said two vehicles collided head-on for an unknown reason. They crashed on Highway 246 at the intersection of Campbell Road.

2 Cars Collide Head-On

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated one trapped occupant from the wreckage. A total of three people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.

One patient, a 70-year-old passenger, sustained major lower body upon impact. An air ambulance took the victim to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.

The other two wounded parties survived with minor injuries. Officials did not release their names and condition at this time.

Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Highway 246 and Campbell Road to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Santa Barbara County crash.
