Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Highway 154 Crash Near Lake Cachuma

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (July 2, 2021) – A crash critically injured a motorcyclist on Highway 154 near Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara County.

According to the Noozhawk and KSBY News, the accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 9:10 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol said the motorcycle rider and a Toyota Corolla collided for an unknown reason in Santa Barbara County.

Motorcycle and Car Collide

The two crashed in the 3500 block of Highway 154 near the St. Francis Ranch. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the entrance to Lake Cachuma.

They found the motorcyclist lying in the middle of the eastbound lane as a result of the collision. An air ambulance rushed the patient to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Toyota ended up hurt or if they stopped after the wreck.

Officers forced Highway 154 to shut down at the intersection with Highway 246 and at Paradise Road following the crash. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
