3 Injured in Santa Barbara Crash on Highway 154 Near Windy Gap
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (August 25, 2021) – A crash left several people injured on Highway 154 in Santa Barbara County.
According to the Santa Maria Times and Noozhawk, the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 8:30 a.m.
A commercial bucket truck with a large cable spool on the back and a sedan collided for an unknown reason in Santa Barbara County.
Utility Truck and Car Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the two crashed in the 2300 block of Highway 154 near the Windy Gap area. One of the vehicles involved rolled over upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated one trapped occupant in the car from the wreckage. The rescued person sustained critical injuries as a result of the collision.
Two more people survived the incident with minor injuries. Medical personnel took all three patients to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release their names and condition at this time.
Meanwhile. CHP forced Highway 154 to shut down in both directions for several hours following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Santa Barbara County crash.
