Pedestrian Killed in Santa Barbara Crash on Las Positas Road Near Stanley
SANTA BARBARA, CA (November 4, 2021) – A crash killed a pedestrian on Las Positas Road in Santa Barbara.
According to an article published by the Noozhawk News, the tragic accident took place on Thursday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 6:30 p.m.
Santa Barbara police said a pickup truck going north hit the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The car struck the person on Las Positas Road near Stanley Drive.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the victim down on the ground. The patient sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the person dead. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the pickup stopped and stayed at the site following the crash. The cause of the fatal Santa Barbara pedestrian incident is still under investigation.
Officers forced a stretch of Las Positas Road to shut down between Stanley Drive and McCaw Avenue for several hours after the collision.
