Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Santa Barbara Crash on Cabrillo Boulevard
SANTA BARBARA, CA (July 21, 2022) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on Cabrillo Boulevard in Santa Barbara.
According to an article published by the Noozhawk News, the accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 2 p.m.
The Santa Barbara City Fire Department said the male motorcycle rider and a truck collided for an unknown reason. The two crashed in the 300 block of East Cabrillo Boulevard.
Motorcycle and Truck Collide
The motorcyclist lost his helmet which flew about 30 feet through the air due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
The victim sustained major head and other injuries as a result of the incident. Medical personnel rushed him to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, police did not mention if the driver stopped or stayed at the site following the wreck.
Officers forced a stretch of Cabrillo Boulevard to shut down after the wreck. The cause of the Santa Barbara crash is still under investigation.
